Speaking of Bokeh

First I have to say Happy Birthday month to Mynn at On A Stampage http://mynnettekitchenonastampage.blogspot.com/2015/05/mynns-birthday-bash-giveaway-celebration.html I love her cards and she is such an inspiration. This month I am going to make her a million birthday cards(I am exagerating)!! But she has a great giveaway if you make and link a birthday card, become a follower and follow the rest of the rules. I have to figure out how to add her badge to my sidebar (she also challenges me as I had to fugure out how to do a 2014 review and link it to her site)!

My sister wanted to try some different techniques and Bokeh was one. We used watercolor paper, Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn DI on the background. We took our circle punches and acetate punched different size circles in the acetate. Laying this template on our background, we sponged Whisper White ink in the circles. Laughing, we speak in a whisper tone when we use Whisper White!!

Once the background was complete, I took white card stock and Picked Raspberry distress paint and painted three abstract circles. I was going for a rose that had petals with colored edges. I stamped my rose image in black ink over this. I cut out the rose.. When I placed it on the background, I used the green part on the background to stamp my stem image. I stamped two leaves on green cardstock, cut them out and added them under the rose. I wanted to shade a little under the rose so I used Mowed Lawn DI with water and shaded a few areas to make the rose pop out from the background. It needed a little sparkle so a large bling was added to the center of the rose.

For Mynn's birthday the inside says Happy Birthday!!

Bokeh is a fun technique.
